What is a DKIM record?

DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is an email authentication method that uses cryptographic signatures to verify that an email was sent by an authorized server and wasn't altered in transit.

What is a DKIM selector?

A DKIM selector is a string used to locate your DKIM public key in DNS. Common selectors include 'google' (Google Workspace), 's1' or 's2' (Microsoft 365), and 'default'. Your email provider will tell you which selector to use.

How do I find my DKIM selector?

Check your email provider's documentation, or look at the DKIM-Signature header in a sent email. The 's=' tag in that header is your selector.

Why is my DKIM check failing?

Common causes include: wrong selector name, DNS propagation delay (wait 24-48h after setup), missing or incorrect DKIM record in DNS, or the record exceeding the 255-character TXT record limit.
